RIPA Data

The California Racial and Identity Profiling Act (RIPA) was enacted in 2016 with the goal of strengthening law enforcement and community relations in California through collaboration, transparency, and accountability. The Act requires law enforcement agencies to collect police stop data and report that data to the Department of Justice (DOJ) on an annual basis. 

Though collaboration with the Marin County Sheriff's Office, Tiburon Police has created a stop data dashboard for public viewing. The dashboard is updated in real time and allows viewers to filter Tiburon Police stop data by perceived race, reasons for the stop, result of the stop, and the city or town the stop took place in. The dashboard is available below.
