The Planning Division is responsible for maintaining an up-to-date General Plan, conducting environmental studies, and producing long-range planning documents.

The Planning Division also plays an integral role in large-scale planning for major development projects and commercial projects, and the development and implementation of certain community rules and regulations (ordinances).
