Alice Fredericks was elected to the Tiburon Council in November, 2001 and has served 3 terms as Mayor. She serves on Council’s Affordable Housing, Legislative Action, Litigation, Martha, Paths and Open Space Access and Town Manager Evaluation ad hoc committees.  She is the Tiburon Council representative to the Transportation Authority of Marin and the Marin County policy committee for BAYWAVE, representative for the Marin cities to the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway, Transit District Board.

Alice serves as the Tiburon’s voting representative to the League of California Cities and is a League of California Cities President appointed representative to the Transportation Communication Public Works statewide policy committee. She works with the Reed Union School District Safe Routes to School Taskforce.  Alice is serving her 12th year as chair of the MCCMC Legislative Committee.

Prior to being elected to the Town Council, Alice served on the Parks and Opens Space Commission (now POST), and as vice chair of the Planning Commission.   Her community activities include work with the School District as a member of the past RUSD Strategic Planning Committee, serving as former president and current member of the Lyford Cove Old Tiburon Neighborhood Association and as former board member of the Belvedere Tiburon Library Foundation. Alice currently serves on the Marin Kids board and is a member of Marin Strong Start and the Marin Forum.

Professionally, Alice is an inactive member of the California State Bar and a former research psychologist at UCSF, conducting research on the cardiovascular effects of environmental stress and addictive substances.

Alice is a 22 year Tiburon resident, enjoys walks along the shoreline or coffee at Rustic Bakery with friends and community members, visits with her three adult children, and hearing the technical details of her husband’s latest mountain bike ride.
