Elections & Voter Information
On June 6, 2018, the Town Council adopted Resolution Nos. 17-2018, 18-2018, and 19-2018, calling for a municipal election to be held in the Town of Tiburon to elect three (3) council members on November 6, 2018. Those elected will serve for 4-year terms, until 2022.
At the close of the filing period on August 10, 2018, there were not more candidates than offices to be elected. The Town Council met on August 20, 2018 and adopted Town Council Resolution No. 36-2018 appointing nominees Jim Fraser, Alice Fredericks and Jon Welner to office and cancelling the November 6 election. The next municipal election in Tiburon will be November 2020 for two seats on the Council.
To become a Town Council candidate, you must be over 18 years of age and a registered voter in the Town of Tiburon. The nomination period for the November 6, 2018 election began on July 16, 2018. The last day to file nomination papers was August 10, 2018.
