The Marin County Elections Department is recruiting poll workers for the June 5, 2018 Countywide Election, particularly those who speak English and Spanish or Vietnamese

Positions include chiefs, deputies, and clerks:

  • No experience is required
  • You must be a registered voter
  • Lawful permanent residents may serve in the clerk position

Chief makes sure the polling place is ready to open by 7 AM, and coordinates the overall running of the polling place. The Election Day stipend is $175 to $250. Sign up before May 30, 2018.

Deputy manages the official voting precinct table, and trains and supervises the Clerks. The Election Day stipend is $150. Sign up before May 30, 2018.

Clerk greets voters at the precinct table, has them sign the roster, gives them a ballot, and sends them to the voting booth. Clerks assist the Chief and Deputy to set up and break down the polls. The Election Day stipend is $125.

Every poll worker is responsible for treating all voters with courtesy and helpfulness. Chiefs, Deputies, and new Clerks must attend a poll worker training class prior to Election Day. The training class stipend is $15 to $30, depending on the position.
