Building Code Update
The Town will be accepting applications for building permits under the currently adopted California Building Codes until December 31, 2022. The 2022 California Building Codes will go into effect on January 1, 2023.
Please ensure any upcoming submittals to the Planning and Building Divisions under the current Building Codes are complete. All submittals determined to be incomplete will be required to resubmit under the new 2022 Building Codes.
Upcoming Holidays: No Construction Work Permitted
Thanksgiving Day: Thursday, November 24, 2022
Christmas Day: Sunday, December 25, 2022
New Year's Day: Sunday, January 1, 2022
Winter Closure
Town Hall will be closed for the holidays beginning Friday, December 23, 2022 and will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. During the closure, the Building Official will allow architects to inspect architectural building features and engineers to inspect engineered building features. This option will expire on January 2, 2023 and is permitted for all construction, excluding foundations, which need to be verified by the Building Division for property line setback requirements.
A daily report must be compiled for each inspection by the design professional with their name, signature, a complete description of the work, and the location of the work accepted. Please submit all reports by the design professional no later than January 5, 2023. Please be advised that additional inspections may be required as deemed necessary by the Building Official.
Winterization Advisory
All sites are required to be winterized between October 15 and May 1 of every year, including erosion and sediment control measures that are specified on project drawings. If your plans do not contain erosion and sediment control measures, please see the Marin County minimum requirements at the link below:
