Going into effect on July 1, 2025, all Class 2 and Class 3 e-bike riders in Tiburon must be 16 and older. All e-bike and traditional bike riders must wear a helmet. Class-2 e-bikes are operated with a throttle and do not have pedal assist. Class 1 e-bikes, which are pedal-assisted and do not have a throttle, remain operable for youth under 16. The County of Marin has created a website with information to help parents and riders to stay safe and legal on the road.
