The Planning Division of the Community Development Department is responsible for managing the physical development of the Town in an orderly manner in accordance with the Tiburon General Plan, the Zoning Ordinance, the Municipal Code, and Town policies and regulations. The Planning Division reviews and processes a wide variety of planning, zoning, subdivision and other permits and performs code enforcement functions for other areas in its purview. 

Services

The Planning Division provides a variety of services, including:

• Current planning, including review and processing of applications for residential and commercial remodels and new developments, and compliance checks with building permits 
• Long range planning, including the update and implementation of the Town's General Plan and Housing Element, developing Town-wide planning policies, such as the Climate Action Plan, and overseeing the Town's Zoning Ordinance and other applicable development regulations
• Staff support for the Design Review Board, Planning Commission, and Town Council
